CERT is designed for key personnel such as nurses, managers, educators, risk managers, and infection control practitioners who are responsible for the development of reprocessing protocols and quality assurance standards for reprocessing flexible endoscopes and Endo-therapy Accessories.

Course Overview

Olympus University is pleased to present an innovative training program on Endoscope Reprocessing. The Certified Endoscopy Reprocessing Trainer (CERT) program is the first comprehensive endoscope reprocessing training program offered in Canada by any organization. The program is conducted in our training facility in Markham. Attendees are eligible for continuing education credits (CEU’s).
br> The complexity of reprocessing flexible endoscopes demands a standardized approach that is consistent, procedure after procedure. The 2-1/2 day CERT program provides intense hands-on training, tools, and information to a hospital or regional training coordinator, which will enable them to establish training and quality assurance protocols within their hospital or region. CERT is designed for key personnel such as nurses, managers, educators, risk managers, and infection control practitioners who are responsible for the development of reprocessing protocols and quality assurance standards for reprocessing flexible endoscopes and Endo-therapy Accessories.

Learning Objective

  • Learn the fundamentals of endoscopy: endoscope terminology, endoscope nomenclature, common endoscopy procedures and related anatomy.
  • Understand and learn Olympus recommendations / guidelines for reprocessing all models of endoscope being utilized in your endoscopy department
  • Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and implement a continuing education/quality assurance program in your facility.
  • Provide the tools necessary to formulate validation protocols to assess all personnel that are involved with the reprocessing of endoscopes and accessories to ensure competency.

Cancellation Policy

  • If you cancel up to 30 calendar days prior to the start date of the course, you will receive a full refund of the course fee.
  • If you cancel within 14 calendar days of the course start date, you will receive a 50% refund of the course fee.
  • If you cancel less than 14 calendar days of the course start date, no refund will be issued.
